Lights! Camera! Action! The Tribeca Film Festival has begun in Manhattan. The festivals dates are: April 18, 2012 and run through April 29, 2012.
All types of celebrities are in New York City to celebrate the festival. The exciting think about this year is this marks the 10th year of the event. Tribeca Film Festival was started by Academy Award winning actor, Robert De Niro and his business/producing partner Jane Rosenthal in 2002. The festival was created as a result of the effects on business in downtown New York following the September 2011 attacks on the World Trade Center. The actor felt that that this was a way to excite New Yorkers and the Entertainment community.
Tribeca Film Festival has now become of the many large festivals in the world along with Toronto, Cannes and Sundance. With the festival now 5 days into the festivities, there is still time to catch some great movies, events and panels. Click here for the schedule.
