Many celebrities and high profile individuals are in New York City to celebrate the festival. The exciting thing about this year is this marks the 10th year of the event. Tribeca Film Festival was started by Academy Award winning actor, Robert De Niro and his business/producing partner Jane Rosenthal in 2002. The festival was created as a result of the effects on business in downtown New York following the September 11,2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. The actor felt that this was a way to rebuild downtown NY and excite all New Yorkers along with the Entertainment community.
Tribeca Film Festival has now become of the many large festivals in the world along with Toronto, Cannes, Venice, Sundance among others. With the festival now 5 days into the festivities, there is still time to catch some great movies, events and panels. Click here for the more information.
If you happen to be in New York and have the time, take a moment to checking something out and be a part of these exciting events.
