The film cast also includes: Anthony Mackie, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jordin Sparks andJeffrey Wright.

Many film goers may know that George Tillman, Jr., made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Soul Food. He also directed Men of Honor, and produced Barbershop. Tillman then returned to the director’s chair for Notorious and Faster. After falling in love with Michael Starrbury’s script for The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, he spent three years trying to get the film made.

It was a tough road for the film to come to life, but it was a story Tillman felt that needed to be told and one that audiences had not seen. The dream became a reality when Producer Alicia Keys came aboard. And although it took a little more time, the film began to come together. Since both Keys and Tillman were passionate about the project, they started working together to bring the riveting story that audience will now see on screen.
