“The Last Night’, a Book by Bern Nadette Stanis

7403381ce53f256c80f66d31afc862dfMany 70s sitcom fans will remember the lovely Bern Nadette Stanis from her role as Thelma Evans on the cult classic “Good Times”, but this talented actress has been busy in a few other areas in her career as well. She is still active as an actress, but she is also a prolific writer. Her latest book is entitled “The Last Night” and in many ways, it is a celebration and ode to her late mother, but it is also a book created to inspire caregivers all around the world.

The journey book writing journey was one that took many paths. Bern Nadette Stanis was always planning another book, and she had something very special in mind. In fact, she stated that in a recent interview that “In 2008, Mom and I were sitting on the bed talking, and I told her I wanted to write a book about her. I said,“Mom, I want to tell your story so that people all over the world will know what a sweet, gentle, loving, smart, protective and wonderful mother you are, not just to me, but to all of your children and grandchildren. If I don’t tell this story, no one will know what a special life we had, and still have.” This was her inspiration.

The original idea was that Bern Nadette and her mother would be sitting side by side, signing our books together. Bern Nadette herself, was already traveling the country with other books she had published at that time, and she had her mom as her companion at every book signing. This was was great because people and fans were very excited to meet Bern Nadette and her mother. Many times they would ask her questions about how she felt about having a daughter who was on TV and who had become a legend due to her role on “Good Times.”

With all the success and responses of past book signing, Bern Nadette’s mom seemed to really like the idea of them writing a book together, but Bern Nadette soon discovered that this would never become a reality. A few years before , her mother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the disease was much moving faster than they could form the ideas and organize the book.

Bern Nadette Stanis’ mom passed away on October 6, 2011. Soon after she began writing the pages that would become “The Last Night” and although it was a difficult time and she worked through much grief and sorrow, she was finally able to complete the book in her mother’s honor. This book was also written to comfort many the individuals who struggle with seeing their loved ones suffering through a monstrous disease or other life threatening illness. Bern Nadette Stanis puts it simply in these words, “May you travel with me through The Last Night-Caregiver’s Journey Through Transition and Beyond. The book is one of compassion and empathy to others.

Bern Nadette Stanis is now traveling around the country to promote the new book. Fans can find for information on the book on her website and will be signing her new book at the Baltimore Family Reunion Expo on September 12, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Staying fit and healthy with actress Erika Christensen

ErikaIf you have moved any from home and no longer have access to home cooking, then you be of the many people where prepared meals have become your best friend. This really is an issues for many and if you are not located in a city as convenient as New York City, it might be hard to get food delivered as quickly as you would like. There is a solution for many other cities and busy people. The Lean Cuisine brand has reintroduced itself as a modern eating brand and ally for women’s wellness. As a result, Erika Christensen partnered with Lean Cuisine to share her thoughts and ideas on healthy food and she even shared which dishes is her favorite meals.

The brand is no longer focused on diet, the Lean Cuisine brand relied on insights from hundreds of women as it evolved to reflect a shift in the way Americans – primarily women – are eating and shopping. Women want chef-inspired, ethnic dishes that offer a variety of attributes and bold yet simple packaging that stands out in the aisles, and the Lean Cuisine brand is meeting that challenge.

As part of the transformation, the Lean Cuisine brand is introducing ten new recipes within the Lean Cuisine Marketplace range, all offering modern benefits. From the new line, shoppers can choose Pomegranate Chicken or Sweet Sriracha Braised Beef as gluten-free, high-protein options, Sesame Stir Fry with Chicken and Roasted Chicken and Garden Vegetables as one-cup vegetable and no-preservative options, and Mushroom & Spring Pea Risotto and Cheese & Bean Enchilada Verde, made with organic ingredients and no GMOs.

Lean Cuisine’s research uncovered four “food moods” that guide meal selection, so the brand re-organized products into sublines that are more reflective of the ways women make food choices. This is important because sometime based on your mood, this will be crucial in your decision about figuring out what to eat. Also, if the food choices are associated with staying fit, the mood will affect you choice as well. This is definitely helpful to the single working person as well as busy family. These new changes are definitely positive and could possibly change the way many people think about prepackaged meals.
